Subject:  Illinois legislation – Follow-up to Alert dated January 29, 2004

Our previous bulletin requested your input regarding the IWFA initiating an amendment to allow film on the front side windows in Illinois. We received only eight responses  with four volunteering financial assistance.

Meanwhile, Senator Sullivan, who agreed to sponsor the amendment, met with the Illinois State Police; they firmly continue to oppose film on the front side windows. Senator Sullivan does not believe our legislative amendment would be successful based upon his meeting with the state police and his review of previous discussions regarding law enforcement safety issues.

Therefore, we will not initiate a legislative amendment at this time. We will continue to monitor in the event that an opportunity arises in the future.
