             LEGISLATIVE ALERT FOR GEORGIA

The Georgia State Supreme Court has ruled the current automotive tinting law                 invalid due to the fact that it only applies to Georgia residents.  This action has               created a potentially very dangerous situation for our industryUntil the Georgia    legislature can reconvene and fix this law, there appears to be no real law in effect.

Our industry has a very real opportunity to show that it is a responsible industry                 and that we support laws with reasonable tinting levels allowed,  such as the                 Georgia law.  As an installing dealer, you can show this by (1) installing only films       which would have been legal under this recently invalidated law, (2) by letting               your local law enforcement agencies know it, and (3) by contacting your local               state representatives to let them know to get this law reinstated by making the     appropriate changes in the next legislative opportunity. Our distributors and   manufacturers are being asked to (1) make sure their local legislators are aware of                 this problem and that they support self-enforcement of our industry in the interim                and to (2) assist both the International Window Film Association (IWFA) and the   AIMCAL-Window Film Committee (WFC) in their efforts to work with the legislature                 and law enforcement to remedy this temporary situation.

We all have an opportunity to protect our industry’s tomorrow by being respon-            sible today. Please help us achieve this and let other dealers know that the conse-       quences of not being reasonable and responsible now may mean a more restrictive              law is put in place.
