LEGISLATIVE ALERT

TO:  Manufacturers, Distributors, and NC Dealer/Installers

FROM:  The IWFA Office

DATE:  June 19, 2006

SUBJECT:  North Carolina House Bill 2805

The IWFA is tracking legislation in North Carolina that would         eliminate the requirement for re-inspection of window tinting as           part of the safety inspection process.  House Bill 2805,                 introduced by Representative Allred, states that window tinting inspections need only be performed once so long as the owner               of the vehicle does not change.  Once a sticker has been issued            for tinted windows, there will be no fee charged for inspecting                the window tinting in subsequent years until the vehicle is sold.

The Legislative Consultant will keep you apprised of any         developments with this legislation and encourages you to                contact your legislator in support of House Bill 2805.
