Privacy Statement: Last updated May 5th, 2011
The International Window Film Association (IWFA) is committed to developing technology that gives you the most powerful and safe online experience. This Statement of Privacy applies to the IWFA Website (the “Website”) and governs data collection and usage. By using the Website, you consent to the data practices described in this statement.
Collection of your Personal Information
The Website collects personally identifiable information that you voluntarily supply, such as your e-mail address, name, home or work address or telephone number. The Website may also collect anonymous demographic information, which is not unique to you, such as your ZIP code, age, gender, preferences, interests and favorites.
The Website also automatically collects information about your computer hardware and software. This information can include collecting your computer’s IP address, browser type, domain names, access times and referring Website addresses; and tracking the web pages visited within the IWFA Website. This data may be used to deliver customized content and promotional materials within the Website to members whose behavior indicates that they are interested in a particular subject area. This information may also be used to operate the Website, provide services, and to provide general statistics regarding use of the Website.
We suggest that you do not disclose personally identifiable information through the Website public message boards, because this information will be public and may be collected and used by others.
The Website is not directed at children under 13 years of age and does not intend to collect personal information from children under 13 years of age.
Use of your Personal Information
The Website collects and uses your personal information to operate the Website and deliver services you may request. The Website may also use your personal information to inform you of other products or services available from the IWFA and its affiliates. We may also periodically contact you via surveys to conduct research about your opinion of current services or of potential new services that may be offered.
The Website does not sell, rent or lease its customer lists to third parties for marketing purposes. We may, from time to time, contact you on behalf of business partners about a particular offering that we believe may interest you. We may also utilize the services of third parties or vendors to assist us with running the Website and providing our services, such as performing Website statistical analyses, sending e-mail or postal mail, providing customer support, or arranging for deliveries. In these instances, these vendors may have access to your personal information. However, these third parties and vendors are prohibited from using your personal information except to provide these services to the IWFA, and they are required to maintain the confidentiality of your information.
We may share personal information you provide with legal authorities if it is, in our sole opinion, necessary to investigate, prevent, or otherwise take action regarding suspected fraud, situations involving threats or potential harm, or if otherwise required by law (such as by a subpoena, court order, or other legal means). In the event that we reasonably believe that you have violated any of the Terms or policies governing your use of the Website, we reserve the right to use any information we have collected about you in connection with any efforts we make or made by any of our agents on our behalf.
We may transfer your personal information to an affiliate or third party as part of a transfer of business assets. Such a transfer would be within the scope of this policy so long as the affiliate or third party agrees to continue to maintain use and storage of personal information in accordance with this policy.
The Website uses "cookies" to help you personalize your online experience. A cookie is a text file that is placed on your hard disk by a Web page server. One of the primary purposes of cookies is to provide a convenience feature to save you time. The purpose of a cookie is to tell the Web server that you have returned to a specific page. For example, if you personalize Website pages, or register with the Website site or services, a cookie helps the Website to recall your specific information on subsequent visits. This simplifies the process of recording your personal information, such as billing addresses, shipping addresses, and so on. When you return to the Website, the information you previously provided can be retrieved, so you can easily use the Website features that you customized.
You have the ability to accept or decline cookies. Most Web browsers automatically accept cookies, but you can usually modify your browser setting to decline cookies if you prefer. If you choose to decline cookies, you may not be able to fully experience the interactive features of the Website services or Web sites you visit.
We may provide links at the Website to other sites. We offer these links for your convenience only – we are not responsible for the privacy statements or practices or other content on other websites. If you choose to click on a link, we cannot attest to the content or accuracy of any information provided at any other site. Additionally, merely because we provide a link to another site, that does not constitute an endorsement of the site by IWFA.
Security of your Personal Information
Any information transmitted via the Internet, including through a web page or e-mail is subject to interception or incorrect routing, and the Internet is not a fully secure communications channel. Please consider this prior to submitting any information to the Website. While we follow generally accepted industry standards to protect the personal information submitted to us, no method of transmission over the Internet, or method of electronic storage, is 100 percent secure. Therefore, while we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your personal information, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.
Changes to this Statement
The IWFA will occasionally update this Statement of Privacy to reflect organization and member feedback. The IWFA encourages you to periodically review this Statement to be informed of how the Website is protecting your information.
The Website welcomes your comments regarding this Statement of Privacy. If you believe that Website has not adhered to this Statement, please contact the Website at Feedback@iwfa.com. We will use commercially reasonable efforts to promptly determine and remedy the problem.
